The Foundation was thrilled to play host to a European Football For Development Network (EFDN) Walking Football Tournament at the Ibrox Community Complex in June.
Teams from across Glasgow and the west of Scotland attended with the Foundation fielding two teams to compete against sides from Greenock Morton, Motherwell and Glasgow Life. Despite a few strong results from both Foundation teams, Glasgow Life emerged as the overall victors after defeating the Morton side in the final.
Walking Football is a fast-growing version of the sport which is non-contact and allows participants to play the game they love without the same risk of injury or level of exertion, whilst still boosting fitness.
As part of our partnership with EFDN, we offer people over the age of 50 the chance to take part in a free weekly Walking Football sessions at the Ibrox Community Complex (across the road from Ibrox) on Thursdays at 11am* – 1pm with the first hour being for playing football and the second for social time and refreshments.

*Please note that walking football is not currently running during the school summer holidays. The programme will restart on the 17 August*
